About Us

Responsible for disaster response and management for the Cook Islands

Objectives

Provide a management and operational structure for mitigation, prevention, preparedness, response
and recovery to any hazard in the area.
Provide clear roles and responsibilities of all key stakeholders within the Puna before and during a
national emergency or disaster
To ensure Cook Islanders are prepared to respond effectively to the threats of any Hazards
To ensure that all resources required for the implementation of this plan are provided, maintained and readily available.
To ensure that the safety shelters are readily available and managed for use in the event of an evacuation
of residents within the area.
